Wanted: PHP developer

If I can find the right person, I’m considering hiring a PHP developer (and this has nothing to do with those deadlines I said I was missing in my last post. Well OK, not much…). The person doesn’t necessarily need much experience, but must be talented and able to learn quickly. They’ll be working closely with me, tapping my vast experience of being lead developer for IOL, a regular columnist for PHPBuilder and Database Journal, and MySQL book author. That should take an hour or so – then it’s down to work. There’re lots of opportunities if you prove yourself, and you’ll have the possibility of working in a wide variety of environments. There’ll be no handholding though, and the person needs strong self-motivation, and to show initiative. I’m willing to consider very flexible working conditions (midnight to 4am, twice a week, anyone?).

Minimum skills:

  • HTML
  • SQL
  • PHP (or a similar language)
  • Comfortable on the Unix command line
  • JavaScript

Nice to have:

  • AJAX
  • Unix sysadmin skills
  • Live in Cape Town

If this appeals to you, contact me by email: phpdeveloper @ this blog’s domain with the subject line PHP Developer.
