Being a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.zend.com\/store\/education\/certification\/zend-php-certification.php\">ZCE<\/a> would definitely enhance most developer&#8217;s job prospects, but at $125, it&#8217;s not that cheap for individuals, especially those just starting out, where it would have the most impact.<\/p>\n<p>Perhaps one of the conferences can arrange some low cost tests if there&#8217;s enough interest, just like <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tectonic.co.za\/view.php?id=456\">has been done for the LPI cert<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>I had a look to see how many South Africans are <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mysql.com\/training\/certification\/candidates.php?exam=core\">MySQL-certified<\/a>, but that&#8217;s not listed on the site (you need to specifically request it, and none have).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I noticed today that there are only 9 Zend certified developers in the country.
