While researching the latest figures for my Wikimedia presentation at *Camp<\/a>, I was extremely pleased to discover that the Venda Wikipedia<\/a> had reached 100 articles.<\/p>\n

Perhaps it’s not yet enough to be ready for a printed version distributed to schools, but there’s been good progress. Compared to the other South African languages, some spoken by many more people, Venda is doing well.<\/p>\n

By my reckoning, the 100th article was Giyani<\/a> (which is appropriate for a milestone like this – who can forget the famous Johnny Clegg song<\/a>).<\/p>\n
