For someone who enjoys quotes such as Men who work cannot dream; and wisdom comes to us in dreams and Work is the systematic suppression of a person’s real desires, I work insanely hard.
The difference (so I tell myself) is that I enjoy what I do, I am not suppressing my true desires – it’s just that I have too many!
I do have to cut down and prioritise though. I even to my annoyance missed the historic first BarCamp in Cape Town, thanks to a few last-minute deadlines.
I currently write one article a month for Database Journal, and another for PHPBuilder. I’ll be cutting these down to one every two months. If anyone feels ready to leap into the gap and write one MySQL article a month, give me a shout.
