Another piece of paper

It won’t surprise anybody who knows me that I’ve finally signed up to do a nutrition course. So, in about 500 hours I should be a qualified clinical nutritionist 🙂 But more important than the meaningless piece of paper (at least to me – others may be impressed:) ) is the motivation it gives me to expand my knowledge. I have a pretty good knowledge of western nutrition already, but there’s nothing like a course to focus my scattered mind. I hope to examine overlaps with Ayurvedic and Chinese nutrition as well.

I don’t have an entirely clear picture of what I want to do with it yet, but it’s a passion of mine that can’t be ignored, an itch that needs serious scratching. I’m already excited by one of the first getting to know you questions, which reads: What are the main nutritional problems that you see in your state, province or country? Suggest some solutions. And they want me to write less than 500 words?

  1. Maybe you start on this article on cow’s milk, which is widely consumed:

I don’t understand how or why people can think cow’s milk must be good. Not everything that comes out of mammary glands MUST be nutritious and healthy. Not sure how such an article can still be published, cow’s milk is known to be the product of industrial marketing, much like De Beers created a demand for useless carbon aka diamonds.
